The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its 22nd week of regular season action for the 2024-25 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlight the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide positioning.
The Grand Forks Border Bruins keep their No. 1 spot. They won both their games, first defeating the Spokane Braves 8-3 on Feb. 15 with Ben Edwards scoring the winner. On Sunday, they defeated the Beaver Valley Nitehawks 4-2 with Ashton Schram scoring the winner. The Border Bruins won their second Neil Murdoch regular season division championship in three years.
The Princeton Posse moved up a spot, winning two of their three games during the week. They opened with a 2-1 loss to the Merritt Centennials. Then they rebounded in a big way on Feb.14 with a 5-1 win over the Fernie Ghostriders. Jalen McRae scored the winner. On Feb.15, the Posse defeated the Chase Heat 6-2, the winner scored by Carson Hebert.
The Beaver Valley Nitehawks move up a spot to No.3. They had a split on the weekend, first defeating the Nelson Leafs 5-2 with the winner by Connor Drake. On Sunday, the Nitehawks lost 4-2 to the Border Bruins.
The Kimberley Dynamiters drop two spots. They won two of their three games over the week. On Feb. 11 they defeated the Creston Valley Thunder Cats 5-3 with Jake Briltz netting the winner. They defeated the Osoyoos Coyotes 5-3 on Feb. 14 with Nate Tillmanns scoring the winner. They then lost 6-5 to the Kelowna Chiefs on Feb. 15.
The Fernie Ghostriders stay in the No. 5 spot. They split their games over the weekend, starting with a 5-1 loss to the Posse on Feb. 14, then defeated the Coyotes 8-2 with Taylor Haggerty scoring the winner and Lucas Desjarlais netting a hat-trick.
