Astill, Pocock & Sittler named November 3 Stars

Levi Astill (Grand Forks Border Bruins), Declan Pocock (Williams Lake Mustangs) and Blake Sittler (Princeton Posse) have been selected as the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Month for November.

Astill – Top Forward – The Edmonton native scored four goals and collected 12 assists for 16 points in eight games, helping the Border Bruins win six games during the month. Astill recorded a point in all the games he played and had four multi-point performances. On Nov.10 against Merritt, he had a three-point effort, then on Nov. 15 against Spokane, he collected four points. He closed the month with three points against Beaver Valley. Astill leads the KIJHL with 44 points in 23 games.

Pocock – Top Defenceman – The Williams Lake native had seven goals and five assists in nine games and was plus seven for the Mustangs, while playing an average of 23:31 a game. Pocock had four multi-point games, which started with a two-goal, three-point performance against Kelowna on Nov. 1. He had two goals, including the winner, against Spokane on Nov. 9 and then added two more two-point performances on Nov. 22 against Revelstoke and Nov. 26 against Quesnel. In 21 games, Pocock has 23 points, which ranks him fifth among all KIJHL blueliners and first for rookies.

Sittler – Top Goalie – The Dodsland, Sask., native won four of his five games for the Posse, while saving 146 of 154 shots for a 1.61 goals against average and a .948 save percentage. Sittler opened the month with a 38-save victory over Beaver Valley on Nov. 2. He followed that up with a 31-save performance against Revelstoke on Nov. 8. Sittler also earned wins over Creston Valley and Chase. In 15 games, Sittler has 13 wins with a 1.78 GAA and a .938 SP.
